In our work, every ingredient holds memory. Every material we touch: plant, animal, or mineral, is chosen not just for what it does, but for what it means. We don’t use ingredients because they’re trending or marketable. We use them because they’re relational, rooted in ancestral knowledge, and carry a story that goes far beyond skincare.

Our formulas are not made in isolation. They are crafted in connection with the land, the season, and the teachings that have been carried to us through generations. What you put on your skin should not just soften or brighten—it should recognize you, and offer you something back.

Here, we offer a window into the materials we carry in each product:

  • Six Twenty is a Native Artisan skincare and wellness company co-founded by Jenny and Darcy Fisher, rooted in Indigenous Ecological Knowledge. Keepers of the Seasons is the larger framework that holds our workshops, ceremonial teachings, and land-based learning. Both are extensions of our life’s work: reconnecting people to the land, to plant knowledge, and to themselves.

  • All of our products are created in small, intentional batches using tallow (bison, elk, or bear), botanical infusions, ancestral plants, and eco-minded ingredients. Each item is treated as a medicine bundle, carrying teachings from the land and our lived experience.

    These fats are nutrient-rich and deeply biocompatible, meaning they support and restore the skin in a way that feels like recognition. Bison, elk, and bear tallow were traditionally used for healing, nourishment, and protection. We carry that forward with care.

    The fats we use are not from mass production. They are provided through ethical, ceremonial practices carried out by ancestrally appointed land guardians. People who understand the spiritual and ecological responsibility of taking a life and using all parts with reverence.

    This is not cosmetic trend. It is relational knowledge. What you feel on your skin is the continuation of that offering. Not just about performance it’s about honoring what has always worked.

  • Yes. Our work is meant to honor our ancestors and serve all people. What matters to us is how the products are approached: with care, with curiosity, and with respect. These offerings are made from our hearts and ancestral memory and we hope they become a meaningful part of your own self-care journey.

  • Our products are made with intention, but we don’t claim them as ceremony. They’re rooted in teachings, reciprocity, and love. But how they’re used is up to you. Many people tell us they feel connected, grounded, or uplifted when using them. That’s the medicine of relationship, but it’s not something we market. It’s something you feel.

  • We don’t “source” we relate.
    Many of the plants we use are gathered by hand in places we know, love, and return to season after season. These are not foraging trips. They are visits, offerings, and conversations.

    We harvest in alignment with traditional teachings, in relationship with the land, the spirits, and the ancestors who guide us. Some of our ingredients come from ancestrally appointed land guardians. People who carry the responsibility of knowing when a plant is ready, when to wait, and when to leave it be.

    If something feels off, we listen. If the plants say no, we respect it. Every ingredient carries more than function; it carries presence.

  • It is more than sustainable. It’s sacred.
    Sustainability, to us, is not a checklist. It’s a way of being. We follow ceremonial practices and Indigenous ecological teachings, harvesting with permission and reciprocity. We don’t touch endangered species. We don’t overharvest.

    We give thanks, offer prayers, and sometimes we don’t take anything at all. Sometimes the medicine is just being there, listening.

    This is how our ancestors gathered and this is how we continue.

  • Yes, though we always begin close to home. Starting with what the land and our community offer us.

    Fats may be obtained through grass-fed, ethical farms that align with our values of respect, animal welfare, and full-use practices. When available, gifted fats, especially from elk, bison, or bear, are used in our more personal, spiritual, or ceremonial offerings, or shared in small-batch gifting practices. These carry a different kind of presence and purpose.

    When we source beyond our immediate territory: such as for shea butter, essential oils, or functional ingredients, we follow a strict vetting process rooted in our guiding principles:

    • Is it harvested with consent and care?

    • Are the workers, land, and traditions respected?

    • Does it align with our ethics, reciprocity, and spirit of offering?

    Whether local or from afar, nothing enters our formulas without meaning.
