ABOUT THE BOOK
Before the humans spoke, the earth spoke first. And we are still listening.
From Darcy and Jenny Fisher, Keepers of the Seasons
Indigenous knowledge holders, parents, and founders of Six Twenty Skincare and the Speaking Earth Educational Network. This is their first book.
This isn't a plant guide. This is a remembering.
Walking Through the Seasons is a journey of reclaiming ourselves. Through seasonal ceremony, original stories, and teachings carried by the land, this book invites readers into the deep work of healing across all four quadrants: physical, mental, emotional, spiritual.
Spring offers trust and renewal. Summer teaches discernment and abundance. Fall asks us to take inventory and give ourselves permission to release what no longer serves. Winter holds us in transformation, preparing us to emerge again.
This book is for those whose gifts have been called disorders; when they were always medicine. For those reconnecting after separation. For parents raising children with presence. For anyone facing grief, illness, or the slow work of calling themselves back home.
The heart and spirit already know where we're going. This book helps the rest of us catch up.
For those who cannot. For those just remembering. For those yet to come.
The long handshake continues. Come walk with us.
What's Inside
Ancestral Plant Teachings
Over Sixty-five plants with traditional uses, harvest protocols, and seasonal practices. Each profile honors the plant as teacher, not resource.
Ceremonial Reflections
Seasonal prayers, gathering protocols, and the understanding that every act of harvest is an act of relationship.
Full-Color Photography
Visual journey through ʔamakʔis Ktunaxa—mountains, rivers, and medicines that still speak.
A Call to Relationship
This is not a manual for foraging. It is a remembering of connection, reciprocity, and care.
EXCERPT
"To name a plant is to begin a conversation that can last a lifetime.
Before we speak of identification, we must speak of relationship. Our ancestors understood that learning to recognize plants was not merely acquiring information—it was developing the capacity to receive communication from the living world. When children learned plant names, they were learning how to be human in a way that serves life."

ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Darcy Fisher (ʔakisq̓nuk First Nation/Ktunaxa Nation) and Jenny Fisher (Salish/Kootenai/Pend d'Oreille) are the founders of Keepers of the Seasons LLC and Six Twenty Skincare. They have spent their lives learning with elders, gathering with community, and practicing traditional plant medicine.
Their work is rooted in the teachings passed through generations—from Jenny's grandmothers who harvested medicines in the hills, to the knowledge holders who walked ʔamakʔis Ktunaxa long before them, to their own children who are already remembering.
They live in Montana, where the plants are still teaching and the transmission continues.
